Image Disclosure Occurs Prior to DOJ Cut-off
The panel has a vast number of photos in its holdings from the Epstein estate, which are "at once explicit and everyday," its statement on Thursday explained.
The Congressional committee first subpoenaed the estate of Epstein, who passed away in a New York jail in 2019 while pending legal proceedings on accusations of sex trafficking, in August.
The images and documents the Epstein estate provided to the body are separate from what is largely called "the Epstein documents". Those files are papers under the justice department's possession connected to its independent inquiry into Epstein.
Under the recently passed law, which President Trump made law last month, the DOJ has until the date of 19 December to release its documents. The extent of what is included in the DOJ's documents is not publicly known, and it's likely that a large amount of the material will be heavily censored, akin to the committee's materials
