Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in response for a large-scale and ongoing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity in the area of the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any impact is unclear and the American officials has remained silent.

Missile Defenses Activated

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - said they have shot down incoming projectiles in their airspace.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on areas linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," it added.

It said debris fell on a residential area in the capital, causing some material damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
