Energy had been returned to in excess of 800,000 inhabitants by the weekend and the largest utility provider said the key work to recover electricity was concluded though some outages remained.

Anti-Aircraft Operations and UAV Interceptions

The Ukrainian air defences neutralized 54 of 78 Russian drones launched targeting the country in the dark hours, the aerial defense command reported on the weekend.

The Russian defense officials stated it shot down 42 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory.

Cuba Denies Accusations of Providing Forces to Ukraine

Havana on Saturday rejected US assertions it has sent military personnel to engage in the Ukraine war, while affirming officials in Havana "do not have accurate data about Cuban nationals" participating "on their own" or "within the troops of either party".

The foreign ministry in Havana stated twenty-six nationals had been given prison terms to incarceration ranging from 5 to 14 years for participating as mercenaries since the autumn of 2023 when information emerged of individuals being dispatched to the frontlines in Ukraine.
