Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game victorious run was ended by the Black Cats before the global break, but will the English top division frontrunners recover against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.

In week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' new record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of several charity football matches over time - but he is not planning a professional return as a player.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I won't force football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their weekend football side," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our team for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is now stronger with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite close, however. Burnley are well organised and their sole home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

This suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple games - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear strong again.

West Ham's only on the road victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - can the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or the home side responding?

I am going to go with the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the season started, but they have surprised a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their last four games.

My son advised me to get Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or support Brentford at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great success on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will try to attack on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

The singer's view: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it actually proves to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

They have have plenty of talent in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

Their display in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not going to do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's home form, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
